Himani Almiya

“My little sister needed a role model. So I became one.”

The journey

Himani wanted her little sister to have someone to look up to. So she became that person.

Himani is from Pokhari, a village in Almora district. Her father is a farmer, and her mother looks after the home. She is the eldest of three, with a younger sister and a younger brother.

When you're the eldest, the younger ones watch everything you do. Himani never had a role model of her own, so she decided to be one for them.

She studied Computer Science & Engineering at Government Girls Polytechnic, Almora, and joined CodeYogi to turn what she'd studied into real skills. Her mentors describe her the same way: hardworking and quick to learn.

Today she is a software developer intern at CodeYogi. Back home, her sister has someone to follow.
